I am happy to announce that volume one of my brand new book The Mystical Psalter has been published and is available through Amazon. The book includes a fresh and literal translation of the psalms from the Hebrew, along with comparisons and textual choices from the Greek Septuagint. For each psalm there is offered an historical commentary, interpreting the psalm verse-by-verse according to its original historical context and meaning, including a number of word studies, showing how the Hebrew words are used in other parts of the Old Testament. This is followed by a “mystical commentary” for each psalm, offering a deeper look to explain its Christological meaning and its application to the life of the Christian.
Volume 1 contains an introduction to the Psalter in general, and commentaries on Psalms 1-41. The volume is available now both through Amazon.com (at this link) and Amazon.ca (at this link) for the comparatively low price of $19.95 US. It will soon be available in Kindle format as well.
Volume 2 (for Psalms 42-89) and Volume 3 (for Psalms 90-150) will also be available soon.
